Concord is the largest city in Contra Costa County, California and has a population of over 127,000 residents. The total area of the city is 30.5 miles all land. It was founded in 1869.

Concord is just south of Napa, and east of Berkley. The focal point of downtown Concord is the Todos Santos Plaza, which encompasses 2.5 acres. The plaza hosts a farmer’s market and summer concerts as well as other events. The plaza also features a family park within it complete with a playground area, benches, and picnic area.

The northern edge of Concord is the industrial area of the city, while north and east of the downtown area are mainly residential.

Concord Music, Shopping, And Entertainment:

Concord also has a thriving nightlife with various types of music and other entertainment. Surrounding the plaza is a number of nice restaurants, ice parlors, and other eateries as well as some shops.   • Kirkwood: The Kirkwood neighborhood is made up of cozy homes, condos, and cluster homes and some well-rated schools. The neighborhood has a nice greenway area and offers a number of different outdoor activities. The average age of residents in this neighborhood is 50 plus and about 75% of the residents own their own homes.
  • Crystal Ranch: The Crystal Ranch neighborhood of Concord, California located next to the Lime Ridge open space and CSU East Bay. This neighborhood has beautiful homes tucked away among the areas rolling hills with beautifully maintained yards due to a very active HOA. Children from this neighborhood attend Northgate High in Walnut Creek.

Concord is considered to be a safe and quiet city. While it lacks many of the more exciting venues of cities like San Francisco it is a good place for those who enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and biking.

Most people who live here own their own home and they have chosen this city because it close to the larger cities yet far enough away to have a cozy feel about it. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops, and a number of shopping centers.
