Fillmore is a city in the southern part of California and one of the communities in the Santa Clara River Valley, Ventura County. Fillmore is about 20 miles to the beach and around 40 miles from Los Angeles. With rich and fertile soil, Fillmore’s economic growth is largely driven by agriculture.

The city was named after J. A. Fillmore, the General Superintendent of a Railroad company called Southern Pacific. In 1887, this American Class I Railroad network built a rail line through the Santa Clara River Valley. During this period, a historic downtown was also established.

Fillmore is known for its many orange groves and different sorts of buildings such as bungalows, cottages, and old homes. Its oldest structures can be found downtown while newer residential communities are in the western part of the city.

30.2% of the population (15,002 people) were those under 18 years of age, (10.4%) were aged 18 – 24, (27.6%) were aged 25 – 44, (21.5%) people were aged 45 – 64, and the remaining (10.3%) were 65 years and upward. Now the population of Fillmore is estimated 15, 529. Furthermore, the city has experienced a population growth of 5.5% since 2010.

  • Filmore Historical Museum: Located at 350 Main Street, Filmore, CA 93015, the Filmore Historical Museum is a place in which visitors can see the artifacts from the people who lived in the Heritage Valley communities of Filmore, Bardsdale, Sespe, and Piru.
