Woodland, California is the County seat of Yolo County and is a mere 15 miles northwest of Sacramento with a population of fewer than 56,000. This city traces its roots back to the 1850s when California first became a state.
In the 1860s the county seat was moved to Woodland and has remained there ever since and the city was incorporated in 1871. From its inception, Woodland has grown and continues to grow.
