There are plenty of hiking trails and wide-open spaces and the town sponsors several community events including concerts in the park. The town is also just minutes away from Johnson Valley’s famous off-road vehicle area.

- Flamingo Heights: Is a community in Yucca Valley that was established around 1955. This neighborhood is nestled between Pioneertown and Joshua Tree. The homes here are midsize and reasonably priced.
